Life is funny sometimes and full of twists and turns... When we went to pick up
Sylvia last week, we came across the cutest little baby bunny. Sadly her time had ran out so the shelter asked us to please take her in. We couldn't let her die so we searched near and far and amazingly found a foster home for the little one. When we went back to the shelter, they told us that somebody is interested in her and they gave her 2 days to make up her mind. The two days came and went and so the shelter contacted us again on Monday and asked us to please come and get the little one. Well, just a few hours before we went to get her, the adopter came through and the little one has a home. Yay!
Since we already had a foster lined up for a bunny, we decided to pull another one. The foster mom has a fondness of Jersey Woolies and we just happened to find one at a local shelter that often asks us for help with the small animals they get in. They were thrilled to hear that we are able to take her in. We pulled her today.
So please meet Cutie:
She was found as a stray like so many rabbits. Unfortunately a lot of people get pets without doing proper research and a few months/weeks later they get dumped. She was brought to the shelter at the beginning of August so it's past a rabbit's gestation period and luckily she turned out to be NOT pregnant. We are going to get her spayed asap. Spaying not only makes sure that she won't reproduce, it also prevents various types of cancer (e.g. ovarian tumors) and overall makes rabbits better pets (better litterbox manners, less aggression etc).
Cutie is a female Jersey Wooly bunny who is looking for her forever home. She wants an indoor home where she will get the attention and love she deserves. She has long hair and will require regular brushing/grooming. Cutie is a lovely bunny with a gentle nature. She lets you pick her up easily which isn't very common with rabbits.
Please get in touch with us if you are interested in adopting her!
Rabbits are very misunderstood creatures, so please make sure you do a lot of research to make sure a rabbit is the right pet for you! They are a 8-12 year commitment! Our favorite website to research rabbits as pets is http://www.rabbit.org
