Unfortunately Noisette joined her sister Abby at the bridge today.

Noisette also had Megacolon like Abby. We've know just as long but Noisette's was manageable so far with a restricted diet and medication but we all knew it was just a matter of time. We were all hoping that she would at least get to enjoy a few months, she even already had a forever home lined up.

Unfortunately it wasn't meant to be.... She was a lot worse yesterday morning all of the sudden. She did manage to pass some stool during the day and was a bit better last night. This morning however she was really bad, her belly was so big it was affecting her movements. She wasn't suffering yet... and we wanted to end it before she had to suffer even a second. It was getting to the point where it was going to be selfish for us to keep her alive and that is just not fair to her.

Today she got to enjoy a day without restrictions and got to eat a lot of yummy treats. She died while she was still happy and with a belly full of apple fritter.

Our hearts on the other hand are shattered into a million pieces. Noisette was an amazing, sweet, kissy little girl. And it's just not fair.

We do plan on sending the pet store who bred their mom a letter to at least hopefully try and educate them so this unnecessary heartbreak and suffering can be prevented in the future. Of course it all depends if the pet store at least cares a little bit about them. We doubt it but we have to try.

On a more positive note, none of her siblings nor the second litter that we took in show any signs of Megacolon at this point and hopefully it will stay like this for the rest of their hopefully long lives.
